Right down Brodybug Lane!
Brody started crawling last week! At first he was a little shaky and slow, but he has since mastered the art and can crawl almost faster then I can walk. These pictures are super blurry (especially if you make them bigger), but I liked them better then the in-focus ones.
The room was packed, and there were limited chairs, so we ended up standing in the corner. I was praying the whole time Zack would not have a meltdown and require me to walk out with my head down while everyone stared at us. Thankfully, this is not what made the trip eventful.
We were standing by a bookshelf that only held a couple pamphlets on the top shelf, so Zack was able to climb on the bottom shelves. A minor note: Zack says the word "bench" like the vulgar word for female dog. Get it? While on the bottom shelf, Zack was yelling at me, "MOM! COME SIT ON THE BENCH! LOOK! A BENCH!"The room was eerily quiet for such a full room so I had to recover quickly. I just shook my head and repeated what he was meaning to say like, "Oh, yes! It is a BENCH. How wonderful!"
Later on I saw a very old man walk in. He walked and talked to everyone like they were his best friend, and after so many years of life, I guess we all are. But that still didn't mean I wanted to have a conversation with him. My hands were full. As I saw him make his way over to us, I kept thinking please not me! please not me!
"Honey, I have a sad story to tell you."
Oh. No. I just nodded and smiled the polite smile without any teeth.
"I have two daughters, one of them looks like you, real pretty and tall and blonde..."
I'm starting to like this guy!
"And they won't have any kids for me! Would you be willing to sell me yours for 39 cents?"
I seriously consider this for a second and then tell him I have already invested a considerable amount in them and would be losing a great deal of money if I sold them for only that much. He laughed and then spent the rest of the time entertaining Zack while I tried to get my blushing under control. I hate having lots of people stare at me, and we were the only ones talking so...you get the picture.
The rest went smoothly until we were about to leave and Zack shouts, "MOM! I GOT TO PEE! I WANT TO PEE ON THE GRASS OUTSIDE! LET'S GO PEE ON THE GRASS OUTSIDE!"
Looking back, I guess he wasn't shouting as much as just using his high, loud kid voice.
I look at the nice lady helping me with a confused expression and say, "I don't know where he got that! We have never let him pee outside in his life!" A total lie.
We then headed over to get our stickers followed by my new, old friend who even held the door open for me and my crew. Although nothing terrible happened, except some minor embarrassing moments, I think I'll send Todd next time. Maybe he can get us a better offer on our kids. :)
